Earth-shattering Science Breakthroughs: The Latest Absurdities that Technological Advancements Can Do!

In the world, there have been 377 people who have undergone hibernation, including the first professor who hibernated in 1967.

There are three companies that offer hibernation services at varying prices, ranging from €18,000 to €200,000. The process begins in a hospital recovery room, with technicians performing the procedure after death has been announced. The body is immersed in ice water, followed by a 'cryoprotectant' solution to prevent tissue freezing, before finally being immersed in liquid nitrogen at -196° degrees.

There are three basic expectations for those who hibernate:

1. Preserving memories and personality in the brain despite the cessation of activity;
2. Preserving brain structures that affect memory and personality unaffected by the cryopreservation process;
3. The future hope of recovering brain capacity from those that have been cryopreserved.

Humans and other mammals are similar to bacteria in their ability to go into suspended animation, according to Pitt. In the beginning, Earth had no oxygen but had sulfur compounds like hydrogen sulfide. Organisms in today's extreme environments breathe hydrogen sulfide, perhaps our origin. Because of our biological heritage, humans can perform ancient chemical reactions. This relates to a time 3.5 billion years ago when oxygen first appeared and cyanobacteria bacteria began to alter the Earth's atmosphere. Many bacteria can regulate their metabolism to survive, and according to Pitt, humans should be no different. We, as symbiotic organisms, have mitochondria that evolved from bacteria. Overall, we are more like bacteria than we think.
