In 1140, in an astonishing episode, a German king ordered the siege of the town of Weinberg with a shocking decree: all women in the town were required to leave it.


In a stern and harsh decree, the king gave permission to the women to carry everything they could on their backs.
Amazingly, however, the women chose to carry their husbands on their shoulders, leaving their belongings behind.

Faithfully, the king fulfilled his promise by allowing the women to leave the city with their spouses.
